New for 2010: Points Trophies
To mark its 40th Anniversary, the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta will introduce four new points trophies at the 2010 event on Saturday and Sunday, October 30 and 31.
The trophies will be awarded to those organizations whose boats score the greatest number of wins and places in the High School, College, Open and Masters events respectively; and in addition to the overall points trophy in each of these categories, there will be separate trophies for the organizations whose boats score highest in the mens and womens races within the category.
Points will be awarded according to the following formula. A gold medal boat will score three points; a silver medal boat will score two points, and a bronze medal boat will score one point. In races where two or more boats register identical times in gold, silver or bronze position, the available points will be split equally between the affected boats.
